When planning for a wedding, many brides and grooms-to-be attend wedding fairs for ideas and advice on their big day. Empathy Action has been attempting to inject its own brand of ethically minded inspiration into the mix.
Over 1,200 couples descended on the Kent Showground in Detling last Sunday to seek out guidance on planning for their wedding. Among the 200 or so exhibitors was a small team from Empathy Action, one of only a tiny number of charities present at the event.
Perhaps charity is not the first thing that one thinks of when organising a wedding but Empathy Action believe that the occasion can be a positive thing for more than just the couple and their guests.
Many couples have a fairly large budget for their wedding and this sometimes stretches to include wedding favours given out as keepsakes to their friends and family.
Events that Change Lives
Buying fairly traded, hand made gifts from marginalised communities can help support the manufacturers and provide them with sustainable livelihoods. It’s an expense that the wedding party may not notice but that will have a hugely positive impact on the people they buy from.
Why not extend the celebration of your event across borders and touch the lives of those living in poverty? Whether it be a wedding, birthday, corporate event or something else, our range of products are designed to put empathy into action.
